Jim Westergard was born in Ogden, Utah, in 1939 and studied art in California and Utah before graduating
with an MFA in printmaking and drawing in 1969. He has taught drawing at Utah State University,
Metropolitan State College, Northern Illinois University and Red Deer College. His work has appeared
in numerous group and solo exhibitions in the North America, South America, the United Kingdom,
Europe, and Japan, and his work in contained in many private and corporate
collections. In 2002, the Society of Wood Engravers named him the Outstanding Wood
Engraver from Overseas. Jim Westergard is a member of the Society of Wood Engravers, the Wood
Engravers Network, the Royal Society of Painter–Printmakers and the Fine Press Book Association.
