Sharon Stewart was born in Kamloops, British Columbia. After pursuing
a successful academic career as a history teacher, she turned her sights
toward the writing life, a childhood ambition that reemerged as she began
editing for educational publishers. She has worked as an editor and
writer for fifteen years now, and her stories and poems have appeared
in many anthologies. Spider's Web is Sharon Stewart's third novel for
young adults. It was initially inspired by her own experiences on the Net
(though she has never flamed anyone!) and by an article she read on Bill Gates'
wired mansion. As she continued to research the Net, Sharon Stewart became
fascinated with the idea that people can become anyone they want online.
Once that possibility became part of her story, it didn't take long for Spider's Web to evolve into a humorous, fast–paced, technological adventure. |
